Tour Description;
Day 1
Arrive Mulu, meet and transfer to resort for
check-in. After lunch, transfer by boat to Park HQ for registration. Trek 45
minutes on raised plankwalk through lowland rainforest and peat swamp to
Lang caves. View the various limestone formations of stalactites and
stalagmites. Walk inside the largest cave passage of Deer cave to the Garden
of Eden. Witness the daily exodus of thousands of bats at sunset before we
return. Overnight at resort. (LD)
Day 2
Transfer 45 minutes by longboat up Melinau River to explore Wind Caves and be enthralled by the beauty of King’s room. Then to Clearwater caves to see the subterranean river passage which at 100 km, form the longest cave system in South East Asia. Lunch at nearby Clearwater River before we transfer to airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu. (BL)

Day 1
Pick up from Mulu airport. Check-in at hotel.
Transfer by boat to Park HQ for registration. Trek 45 minutes on raised
plankwalk through lowland rainforest and peat swamp to Lang caves. View the
various limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Walk inside the
largest cave passage of Deer cave to the Garden of Eden. Witness the daily
exodus of thousands of bats at sunset before we return. (LD)
Day 2
Transfer 2-3 hours by longboat up Melinau River
to Kuala Berar. Trek through the peat swamp forest for another two hours to
Melinau Camp for overnight. Look out for this trail with the rich
biodiversity of Mulu National park, Amorphophallus plant, single leaf plant,
lantern fly and bird life. It’s a basic accommodation with shelter and
cooking facilities. Sleeping bag will be provided upon request. (BLD)
Day 3
Start 3-4 hours summit ascent up 45 degree
slope through limestone boulders and forest and aluminium ladders at certain
sections to 1,750 metres. The spectacular view of the pinnacles suddenly
unfolds through the clouds. Explore the unique floras including the pitcher
plants and rhododendrons before returning to camp. (No guarantee for the
pinnacle view, it’s be due to raining, and your physical fitness) (BLD)
Day 4
Retrace footsteps to Kuala Berar and transfer by boat to visit Clearwater Cave and Wind Cave before departing to airport. (BL)
Bring along raincoat, torchlight, water bottle, insect repellent, swimsuit, slippers, trekking shoes.
Physical fitness is
essential.
