The uniqueness of the Rafflesia is not just its size and appearance, but the fact that it is a parasite that is totally dependent to a host vine (Tetrastigma, of the grape family) for survival and that the only visible part is the vine and flower. It has no roots, leaves or stem – nothing that is green. The varieties found here are R.hasseltii and R.kerrii although some intermediate species have been located.
In this package, we’ll show you the bloom which is indeed a rare privilege. You’ll have an insight to the special characteristic of this unique specie and learn of how the largest flower in the world survives in its natural habitat.

Tour Description
This trail enables one to experience a diversity of floristic zones, starting from the lowland to hill and upper dipterocarp forest together with montane and oak-laural forests in the higher altitude. The rich abundance of plant life includes ferns, fungi and ancient cycads together with many palms, bamboo and native orchids. A very healthy population of mammals has been recorded in the area including elephants, leopards, tiger, deer, wild boar, honey bears, serow, tapir and porcupine.
The peak at Gunung Chabai is above 5,000’ and the trek will be led by our highly experienced guide who’ll be assisted by the Orang Asli’s and they’ll only be too pleased to share their knowledge with you. This package is recommended for the fit.
